The blueberries add a little sweetness to this homemade dog treat, while the pumpkin adds some digestive benefits. The recipe works equally well with fresh or frozen blueberries.

Blueberry Dots: Blueberry Pumpkin Dog Treat Recipe
Makes about 100 dime to quarter sized treats
1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1/4 cup canned pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 egg, beaten
1/4 – 3/8 cup flour (wheat, oat or rice)
1/4 – 3/8 cup tapioca flour (makes treats soft)
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Puree blueberries in a blender or food processor.
- In a mixing bowl, beat egg. Mix in blueberries and pumpkin. Add flours and mix until the consistency is like loose mashed potatoes. Add flour as needed.
- Spoon into a pastry bag or a plastic bag with a tiny corner cut off. Squeeze out dime to quarter sized dots close together onto to parchment paper covered cookie sheet. Dots will not spread during baking.
- Bake in 350° oven for 6 minutes. Remove parchment paper from pan and let cool.
Refrigerate or freeze in airtight containers.
